It has been a long time coming, but today, the new home of the Buffalo Bills will officially open. A special ribbon cutting ceremoy will take place as the team gets ready to host events at the stadium later this year,

New Highmark Stadium Officially Opens Today

The Buffalo Bills, along with officials from New York State and Western New York, will be on hand at 10 am this morning for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the stadium.

The event will be live-streamed on the Buffalo Bills' social media platforms, along with being on the MSG TV network.


Inside The New Highmark Stadium

The new open-air stadium is a little bit smaller than the old Highmark Stadium located across the street, but it has a lot more amenities and technology than the older stadium. The Stadium will hold 60,108 people and feature an all-natural grass playing surface. The Highmark Stadium features 360-degree concourses, cashless food and beverage marketplaces, and cutting-edge audio/visual features that will bring a new presentation to the fans.

The stadium also features a wind-damping outside shell and a rooftop that will collect snow and ice and melt it into reusable water throughout the stadium.

What Will Be The First Event At The New Stadium

As of right now, the first chance for fans to see the new Highmark Stadium will be the "Return of the Blue/Red Practice" on August 8th. The Bills are also hosting two preseason games, with the first official regular season game set for Thursday, September 17th, against the Detroit Lions.
