Bills Mafia To Pay 6% Tax Inside New Highmark Stadium

Bills Mafia had their first chance to see inside the new Highmark Stadium this past weekend with the "Return of the Blue/Red" practice, and many people noticed they were paying more for concessions, merchandise, and more.

Many of us didn't know, but there is a 6% stadium tax included on every purchase inside the stadium. It is all part of the deal Erie County made with the Buffalo Bills to help maintain the stadium.

The money is collected by a third party and will be deposited into an account owned by Erie County to be used to maintain the stadium and surrounding areas, including sidewalks and roads.

This stadium tax will be applied to all events inside the stadium, not just Bills games. That means concerts and other events will also have the 6% tax included in your bill.

Buffalo Bills Getting Ready For Preseason

The Buffalo Bills will host their first preseason game at the new Highmark Stadium this Saturday as they welcome the Carolina Panthers to Western New York.

This will be the first chance non-season ticket holders will have a chance to see inside the stadium. Kickoff for Saturday's game is set for 1 pm.
