As much as we try to fight it every year, it's that time again.  It's time to get ready for the dreaded winter season.

There are a lot of people who love winter.  They go nuts the second they see their first snowflake of the season.  Then they go even crazier when we get a couple of feet and they can pull out the sled.

But let's be honest.  For every one of those people in Western New York, there are another 10 that absolutely loathe it. Whether you like it or not, it's coming.  And it makes it even worse if you aren't prepared.  While the weather is still nice, it's a perfect time to mark some of these things off your list to get done.

If you're like me, you probably really don't mind doing them...when the weather is nice.  I love being outside, especially in the fall and you really do get a sense of accomplishment when you get to mark them off.  But when the weather changes, it's a whole new story.  There's nothing that stinks more than trying to close a pool when it's freezing out.  Not only is it cold, but then you get your hands wet (and if you do it like me...the rest of you gets wet too).  It's awful.

So now is the time to tackle these things.  My suggestion would be to attack the outdoor ones first.  The indoor ones can wait until the weather turns.  Then get ready...winter is coming.
