It made headlines last week when Jordan Poyer of the Buffalo Bills decided to cancel his charity golf tournament after backlash.  Now, it's back on.

What is Poyer's golf tournament for?

Every year, Jordan Poyer holds a celebrity golf tournament to benefit ECMC (Erie County Medical Center) in Buffalo.  It's Western New York's only level 1 trauma center and it was set to be the beneficiary of the event.

Why was the tournament canceled in the first place?

Jordan Poyer decided to cancel the tournament after some sponsors and a few golf teams said they would back out due to the location.  He had it scheduled at President Trump's golf course "The Blue Monster" at Trump National Doral in Florida.  He made the announcement on Instagram saying,

"Unfortunately, the location of the event led to a few sponsors and golfers withdrawing at the last minute due to external pressures, While it’s disappointing, I respect their decision. Nevertheless, we will persevere.” - Jordan Poyer on Instagram

The Jordan Poyer Tournament Is Back On

The tournament will go on as planned on July 10th, 2023.
