New York State Catches a Break for the 4th of July
Monday is about as weird a day as you can get on the calendar.
That's because the Fourth of July falls on a Tuesday this year, which means Monday is a day some people have to work, but many others have off. For many people, they got a five-day weekend, which is about as good as it gets these days.
Many people will be enjoying fireworks shows on Tuesday across the State of New York. The good news is that it will be warm, with highs anywhere from 78-85 degrees, depending on where you are in the state.
However, Sunday and Monday's weather has gotten many people worried about the rain forecast for the Fourth of July. Sunday featured non-stop downpours for five hours, while Monday will feature scattered thunderstorms, with heavy downpours at times.
That won't happen for the Fourth of July.
Most of the state should remain dry, especially in the afternoon and evening, as the rain all moves out and drier skies take over...just in time for the fireworks.
The Fourth of July, more than any other holiday, hinges on the forecast. If it’s raining with thunderstorms, that means fireworks are off the table. There have been times in years past that fireworks have been cancelled due to weather, but thankfully, that won’t happen in 2023. All that rain moved out just in the nick of time.
