Dozens Of Buffalo Business Owners Learn Key Skills
As the calendar flipped to August, national black business month kicks off in the United States as there is a concerted effort to help minority owned small businesses get an extra boost of energy, support, and confidence to help them succeed.
In Buffalo and Western New York, the Exchange at Beverly Gray, a business incubator and co-working space specifically serving BIPOC and underrepresented entrepreneurs and business owners, helped to kick off the month with a business seminar to help give business owners, along with those looking to start a business, the skills they need to grow.
What Is Black Business Month
According to America 250, the national nonpartisan organization created by Congress, National Black Business Month is a time where Americans from all over the nation should recognize and support Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs across the country.
Even though Black and brown communities around the nation have suffered extreme systematic racism, inequality, wage gaps, and violence, Black people and businesses have continued to make key contributions to America and the American economy. Many of those contributions date back to the 1700’s.
Celebrating and supporting those busineses is as American as apple pie and everyone in encouraged to pitch in.
