Tonawanda Twins Use Lemonade To Support Buffalo NonProfit Organization

Summertime in the 716 is often a pretty good time to be outside. Whether you're heading to Canalside to see a huge rubber duck or finding your favorite place near the water to enjoy a great warm day, Western New York summers are quite nice.

The recent streak of super hot weather means that people all over the region are looking for a way to find some relief and refreshment, and a set of pre-teen twins from the Town of Tonawanda came up with an idea that will keep people hydrated while also working to help a local area non-profit fill their coffers to continue helping the community.

Double Trouble Citrus Has Lemonade, Cookies, and Good Vibes

I was on my way home from an event when I happened across a lemonade stand in Tonawanda that was built and created by Maya and Brook Wilson. Double Trouble Citrus offers 16-ounce cups of homemade lemonade for $4 and chocolate chip cookies. The Wilson twins are learning the ins and outs of building a business and working to help Solid Foundation Prep, a Buffalo-based non-profit that has worked for the last decade to help youth develop life skills and leadership through sports, fitness, and tech.

As someone who enjoys a good cup of lemonade, it was great to see two young people finding a way to earn some cash, learn about business, and support the community, which is something that I love to see.

Everything we make is made right here at home. Mom helped us with the baking, Brooke did the mudding and I did the mixing of the lemonade.

According to Double Trouble Citrus' Facebook page, they'll be open on weekends from Noon to 5 p.m. at Welwyn Circle in Tonawanda.
