As the world turns, we slowly inch closer to fall. As the days go by and the autumnal equinox draws nigh, there is a group of Western New Yorkers who are eager to hurry up and enjoy all that fall offers.

Which I can understand; just think about how amazing fall is in the 716, 585, and 289/905. All sorts of wonderful activities are due to pop up soon. I am really looking forward to apple picking and drinking apple cider, watching the leaves turn colors, taking a haunted hayride, and, of course, Halloween.

Autumn doesn't even officially arrive until Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 08:44 A.M., which means we still have more than one month of summer left and that leaves us plenty of days to spend drinking on the beach, riding down Niagara Scenic Parkway with the top down, or taking a great stroll with your pups around Delaware Park.

There is absolutely no reason why I should be seeing Pumpkin Spice and Halloween displays in stores already.

So please, for the love of everything, stop with the pumpkin stuff. Can we at least wait until after Labor Day before you bring out the fall displays and pumpkin lattes? I just don't want to think about Halloween candy shopping when I haven't even finished my school supply shopping.

Is that too much to ask?

Seriously, just say no to pumpkin spice.

Let us band together and say collectively that we're not going to take it anymore!
