Spring has arrived and it has brung more sunshine and warming temperatures with it. Since the weather is nicer and more people are getting started with their spring activities, lots of people are likely beyond ready to forget the really weird winter we had over the past year. This winter seemed to go on forever, and just when we thought it was over with, we get hit with another blast of cold air and snow.

If you're anything like me, you've been ready to pull out the lawn mower and other yard tools and put away the snowblower. But, considering we live in Buffalo and Western New York, is it actually safe to put your snowblower away just yet?

When Do Most Buffalonians Put Away Its Snow Equipment?

Since I have been itching to put my snow blower away, I asked my Facebook network this exact question, and, to be honest, I wasn't that surprised by their answers.

The responses ranged from you have to wait until June to a flat out no, while another person reminded us all that it's not uncommon for it to snow on Mother's Day.

If the opinion of the people wasn't enough to conbvice you that it's likely not safe to put your snowblower away just yet, maybe this weeks wather forecast will.

While there is a warmup in our future, snow flakes are going to fly over the next day or so.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall in the Buffalo area usually ends in April each year with generally only a trace of snow falling in May.

So, maybe you should just be safe and leave the snow equipment ready until June just in case.
