The Official Western New York End Of Summer Bucket List
I am not ready to say this out loud, but no matter how hard I try to ignore it, summer is almost over.
Yes, yes, I know it's just the beginning of September, and the calendar says that we still have around three weeks of summer left before the official start of autumn, but we all know that living in Western New York means you can be sure that winter is coming, and it will come at you fast.

But before you grab your pumpkin spice latte and put do your Halloween shopping, there is still plenty of time to enjoy all of the fun, sun, and last few warm weather days we get here in the Buffalo area. I'm not quite ready for the cold weather to return to the 716 and if you're anything like me, you've spent a lot of time working extremely hard this summer and it's been about time that you just go enjoy yourself.
So, it's finally time to put aside the excuses and get outside to enjoy all of the activities that the 716 (along with the 585, 905, and 416) have for us.
If you can't think of something you can do in these last days of summer, don't worry. I have a few suggestions for you to put on your end-of-summer bucket list. Here are a few things on my list, and hopefully, this can help serve as a roadmap for you as well.

Go Catch A Summer Football Game
If there is one thing about Buffalo that we all know and love, it is that this is a football town with a drinking problem, and this part of summer also means that both NFL Football and NCAA Football are back. Between training camp, the preseason, and the start of the regular season, there is plenty of football to enjoy during the rest of the summer - so pack the car and head to UB North Campus in Amherst or Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park to catch a game.
Take In A Buffalo Bisons or Blue Jays Game
Even though Buffalo is a drinking city with a serious football problem, Western New Yorkers love baseball. We have access to a great minor-league baseball team, the Buffalo Bisons, who play in a historic baseball park in downtown Buffalo. Also, the Bison's affiliation with the Toronto Blue Jays means we have access to some really good baseball (either right downtown or just 90 minutes away in Toronto). Plenty of September baseball is just waiting for you to head to the field to check out.
Visit An Amusement Or Water Park
Whether it's Niagara Amusement Park & Splash World, Splash Lagoon, Great Wolf Lodge, Six Flags Darien Lake, Seabreeze, Fallsview Indoor Waterpark, Marine Land, or Canada's Wonderland, there are tons of great amusement and waterparks all over Western New York and Southern Ontario. With these last few summer days, checking out one of these spots is on my summer bucket list, and I hope it's on yours as well.
Go Hit The Beach
Calling one of the biggest sources of freshwater our home means the Great Lakes gives us access to something most Americans don't have: great freshwater just minutes from our houses. Since we have miles of waterfront on both sides of an international border, there are several beaches sprinkled all around the region that are calling for you to stop by.
Stop By Niagara Falls
It's easy to forget that we have a wonder of the world right in our backyard: Niagara Falls. Millions of people come to Western New York to see it. Make a day trip out of it and wander around Niagara Falls, USA, or Niagara Falls, Canada, like a tourist.
These are all things on my summer bucket list, what are some things that you can suggest?
