Over 40 Inches Of Snow Fell In Western New York
The snow was flying this weekend and as some reports of snowfall come in, some towns were dealing with feet not inches of snow.
Looking around Western New York, it looks like Derby, West Seneca, and Blasdell all got 36 inches or more of snow this weekend.
Elma was close with 32 inches. Lackawanna almost got three feet of snow as well.
It was a pretty dry and mild winter during December and it looks like the first snow of 2024 was a big one. As of Saturday, Buffalo had only gotten around 20 inches of snow so far this winter.

It looks like some places have doubled that in just 48 hours. More is on the way. A Winter Storm Warning is still in effect for the City of Buffalo and the Northtowns until 1 pm this afternoon.
Plus another Winter Storm Watch has been issued for parts of Western New York this week. We could see another 1-12 inches of snow over the next 72 hours in the area.
Buffalo is currently behind Syracuse in the race for The Golden Snowball but is expected to take a massive leap over central New York city when Sunday's and Monday's totals are added.
The Golden Snowball is awarded every year to one of the major cities in New York that gets the most snow in the winter. The race is between Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Binghamton, and Albany. Buffalo was the Golden Snowball winner last year.
