Best Back To School Tradition In New York

School will be back in session soon here in New York and every family handles it a little bit differently.

For me, this is the 1st time in 12 years that I am working on the 1st day of school for my son Avry. This year he is a freshman in college and his classes start today, but I will still do as part of our family's back-to-school tradition.

It all started back in 2010 when my son Avry went to kindergarten. I took the day off to be there to shoot lots of pictures and help my wife get our son off to school. Well, since school started at 8 am after he hopped on the bus, my wife and I didn't know what to do.

So we decided to have morning margaritas and a tradition was born. Every year since 2010 my son Avry has started school, I take the day off, and my wife and I enjoy our "Freedom" as Avry heads back to school.

Like I said this year it will be a little different. With my son starting classes today at Robert Morris University, I will be at work but my wife and I plan on having Margaritas later this afternoon. It is perfect since our son's first class today doesn't start until 1 pm! Man, you have to love college!
