Will Josh Allen Play In Sunday’s Final Game At Highmark Stadium?
With the loss to the Eagles this past Sunday, the Buffalo Bills are out of the running to win the #1 seed in the AFC, and they won't win the AFC East title, so the big question is will Josh Allen even play on Sunday?
Reasons Josh Allen Will Play On Sunday
The first reason is that Josh currently has the 8th-longest starting streak in the NFL at 138 games. That means he will play at least one play to keep that streak alive. I am sure it will be a hand-off to James Cook, and then that is it.
Secondly, it will give the fans something to cheer at the last regular-season home game at Highmark Stadium. Allen is the one player who really turned Buffalo into a consistent playoff team. The Bills missed the playoffs for 17 years before Allen joined the team. Having Allen take a snap will give Bills Mafia a chance to cheer for him one last time.
Third, it could be the last home game ever at Highmark Stadium. The Bills are playoff-bound, but they will be a lower seed, which means a bunch of upsets would have to happen if they were going to host a playoff game. I am sure Allen would love to take an official snap at the last game at Highmark Stadium.
Reasons Josh Allen Will Not Play On Sunday
The risk of injury. It looks like Josh has an injured foot an even if he is out there for one snap, there is a risk of injury. I would bubble-wrap him up and stick him up in a suite on Sunday.
Allen doesn't care about records. I am sure he is aware of his starting streak, but if the coaches and trainers told him it is better for him to not even suit up, I think he would do so without any problems.
Do You Think Josh Allen Should Play On Sunday?
My biggest fear is that Josh comes in for one play and then all of a sudden Mitch Turbersky gets hurt and Allen has to come back into the game and he gets hurt too. If the plan is for Allen to play one snap, he would become the backup QB when he comes out.
