It was a dangerous weekend on the ice on Lake Erie as the winds and waves have caused a few issues especially near Cleveland.

If you travel along Route 5 near the Small Boat Harbor, you may have seen a bunch of people in the ice fishing huts. After we have had a string of very cold temperatures, the ice is pretty thick behind the break walls. But beyond that, the wind and a slight warm up makes the ice move and shift. It was at least 15 days of temperatures below freezing for the Western New York area and things seem to be headed in the right direction as we move to the end of February.

There will be snow to start the week in Buffalo as a quick burst of wet snow will cover most of the region. If you plan to do any ice fishing or be along the lake shore for any reason, keep in mind the changing conditions.
