Frazier was hired by the Bills as their Defensive Coordinator in January of 2017.  On March 4, 2020, Frazier was promoted to assistant head coach. Frazier's first interview with the Giants was last Friday via teleconference.  The same strategy they employed with Bills Offensive Coordinator Brian Daboll, who also is being targeted by the team to be their next Head Coach, replacing the fired Joe Judge.

The news was first reported by Tom Pelissero on Twitter.

Frazier started his NFL career as a member of the famous 1985 Chicago Bears defense, leading the team with 6 interceptions.  His career came to an end when he suffered a knee injury returning a punt in the Bears blowout win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XX.

Frazier embarked into the coaching ranks in Philadelphia as a Defensive Backs coach under then first-time Head Coach Andy Reid.  He then had stints with the Conncinatti Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, and Minnesota Vikings.  He was promoted to head coach of the Vikings in 2010, replacing the fired Brad Childress.

He spent four years as the head-man in Minnesota, compiling a record of 22-32-1, including The biggest single-season turnaround in Vikings history which led to a playoff berth in 2012.

The Giants have already completed in-person interviews with Daboll, current Defensive Coordinator Patrick Graham, former Dolphins Head Coach Brian Flores, and Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. But it was announced on Thursday that Quinn was staying with Dallas.
