Diaganosed with throat cancer in 1998, Levon Helm of the Band overcame the odds and started talking and singing again when nobody thought he would. Given a new lease on life, he started a concert in his barn at woodstock called "Levon's Midnight Ramble" and if you were lucky enough to score a ticket you could see him jam with his band and anybody famous who was willing to show up. Helm lost his battle with cancer last week, but not before he gave rock's greatest encore. Yesterday, CBS Sunday Morning took us inside Levon Helm's rebirth a 10 year run post-cancer where Helm was giving some of his most inspired performances with his second chance. It was a fitting Eulogy to a rock legend. It gave me a new appreciation for Helm, and all he influenced. I suggest you watch it here.
