I love it when I get a chance to talk to Lt. Gov. Hochul. She is from WNY and loves her hometown. She also has lots of good information to share. This time we talked a bit about how WNY is not doing so well in keeping COVID-19 away. But it wasn't all bad news; she talked about the ways that we can still support our small businesses. She also spoke about two programs that New York State has for small businesses. You can check out the information on that below.

New York State Offers Help to Small Businesses

New York State is supporting small businesses that have been affected by the COVID-19 crisis. Business owners can take advantage of the $100 million New York Forward Loan Fund and the new Empire State Digital project, which is designed to help small businesses in New York increase their online presence, to take advantage of shoppers who are remaining at home. New York Forward Loan Fund

Some of the requirements to receive a New York Forward Loan Fund loan, according to Empire State Development are,

-NYFLF targets the state’s small businesses with 20 or fewer full-time equivalent (FTE) employees (90% of all businesses), nonprofits and small residential landlords that have seen a loss of rental income.
- NYFLF is providing working capital loans so that small businesses, nonprofits and small residential landlords have access to credit as they reopen. These loans are available to small businesses and nonprofits that did not receive a U.S. Small Business
