Get your camera ready! For those that love superstition or perhaps a good glimpse of the moon, there is reason to celebrate the arrival of 2018. As the ball drops on New Year's Day, the moon will rise and it will be a first for the year on the first day.

The first Super Moon of 2018 will rise over Western New York on Monday evening.

A supermoon is a full moon that appears bigger and brighter than a typical full moon because of its closeness to the Earth. If you miss the supermoon on New Years' night, no worries. Another one is coming on January 31st.
