Make no bones about it, Paul McCartney is not just dropping by the Olympics for the Opening Ceremony performance. Sir Paul is truly a fan of the athletes taking part in the games and continues to voice his opinion on his favorites in the media leading up to the ceremony.

Having recently criticized the Great Britain soccer team for not including international superstar David Beckham, McCartney has turned his attention from the pitch to the track.

The singer told BBC’s 6Music host Lauren Laverne that the event he’s most looking forward to is the 100 meter dash, where sprinter Usain Bolt has been dominant. The vocalist says, “I love the spring – obviously the 100 meters. I’ve got to see Mr. Bolt because, you know, he’s just a bit phenomenal. Wow, yeah! I don’t think anyone can beat him so that will be great to see.”
