Popular Bar Planning To Add Outdoor Patio Space In Buffalo
Spring is coming. Before you know it, patios will be opening and drinks will be flowing. One bar is hoping to add to their available drinking space soon!
If you're starting to get cabin fever and you're ready to get out of the house, you may already be starting to think about where you can go to enjoy a cocktail and some fresh air at the same time.
While we've got some incredible bars with patio space here in Buffalo, there's one that is making plans to add to their available space.
The Lafayette is attached to The Hotel Lafayette and they're putting plans together to add a 3,000 square foot raised patio area on the second floor of their building. Obviously, it wouldn't be at street level and it would cantilever over the parking lot. When I see the plans, I picture what they have out the back of Pearl Street...only bigger.
According to Buffalo Rising, the plans have been submitted and are waiting for approval from the Preservation Board.
The project application included this description:
The structure will be all steel including the floor and will attach to the existing wall and overhand a parking lot below. There will one exterior stair and horizontal “catch fencing” will surround the patio to prevent any falling objects. All steel (structural, decorative and railings) will be painted black. The structure is painted black.
If you've never been to The Lafayette, it's one you should definitely check out. They've done an incredible job refurbishing the building and the adjacent restaurant/bar area. If this gets approved, it could be a really cool place to enjoy a summer night here in Buffalo before or after a Bisons game, during A Taste of Buffalo, The Taste of Country, and other cool events.
There is no word as to when it will be completed.
