The protestors are angry about the new COVID-19 restrictions that have been implemented in Western New York, due to the increase in COVID-19 positivity. Since WNY has the highest positivity rate of COVID-19 in New York State, Governor Andrew Cuomo designated many parts of WNY as orange zones. With the designation came a new set of restrictions. The protestors say that the safety restrictions are limiting their freedom and ability to make money, according to WIVB. The large group, which violated the limit of 10 people gathering either indoor or outdoor, was protesting loudly in front of Poloncarz's North Buffalo home. On Saturday, November 21, 2020, he tweeted that he was aware that the group planned to be in front of his house,

"I am aware of a loud protest planned for tomorrow (11/22) at 9:30 am to target my house and my immediate neighborhood. I am posting this now so my neighbors are aware."

The protestors sent out instructions to the group, telling people to dress up as slaves and to bring signs with pictures of people in internment camps,

I think it's fitting that the mask-less group, who were not socially distancing, met in the cemetery to start their protest, since more than 236,000 Americans have died from COVID-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control. To me, that imagery couldn't be more supportive of the restrictions that were put in place.
