Stefon Diggs had his first press conference with the New England Patriots and said two things that surprised some Bills fans.

Diggs has been on two teams since joining the Buffalo Bills. He just signed a big contract with the New England Patriots worth almost $70 million, with $26 million guaranteed. It's huge for an aging receiver coming off such a devastating injury to be able to bounce back and grab that kind of money.

Bills Fans Surprised By Stefon Diggs' Comments

During his first press conference with the Patriots, he said two things in one sentence that surprised some Bills fans.  Neither of them was "bad,"  but they were both kind of surprising to hear.

"People say Drake Maye is a lot like Josh."

In Diggs' defense, there were comparisons being drawn between the two at the end of the season last year.  He's got a big arm and he can run.  The Patriots should be ecstatic if Maye turns out to be as good as Allen has been.

"He's my guy."

The other thing that surprised some Bills fans was something that Diggs has said in the past and said again today.  He repeated that it will be exciting if Maye is like Allen because "that was my guy."

It definitely didn't feel that way when he was traded to Houston.  It didn't feel that way with the quick exchange after the Bills played the Texans, and they barely said two words to each other on the field.

Again, in Diggs' defense, we don't know if they ever keep in touch.  We don't really know if anything really did go down between the two of them.  But there's no question that something strange happened at the end of that relationship between Allen and Diggs.

It was just surprising to hear him say, even after he's had another quarterback, that Allen was still his guy.  One thing is for sure.  Buffalo fans still aren't done with the Diggs drama.
