The Niagara Falls Reporter has a warning for people in the area about a man with a sword, who's so far eluded law enforcement.

Police responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon on April 8 at the 1600 block of Weston Avenue in Niagara Falls.

According to the Niagara Falls Reporter:

Upon arriving at the scene, police observed the complainant who was injured. The complainant stated that he had seen his friend fighting with another individual and attempted to break it up. The suspect then attempted to fight with the complainant and followed him.

It was at this time the suspect took out a sword and swung it at the complainant. This resulted in the complainant’s finger being cut. The suspect then fled southbound on 18th Street. He is described as a light-skinned black male, skinny, tall, and wearing glasses.

Police are still trying to locate the suspect and are looking for information about the individual.
