Founding Blue Oyster Cult keyboardist and guitarist Allen Lanier has died at the age of 67 after being hospitalized with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, according to the band's official Facebook page. Blue Oyster Cult will release a 17-disc box set entitled ‘The Columbia Album Collections’ through Sony Legacy on Oct. 30 in celebration of the 40th anniversary of their self-titled debut album.
