I remember when rock was young. Me and Suzie had so much fun. There was rock skipping and holding hands, and gold Chevys, and assorted other frivolities.

Those are the glory days that will be chronicled in Rocketman, the upcoming biopic about the life of Elton John, who is played in the film by Kingsman star Taron Egerton. Above and below we’ve got three new images from the film, which show Egerton makes a very convincing Elton.

The film’s official synopsis:

ROCKETMAN is an epic musical fantasy about the uncensored human story of Elton John’s breakthrough years, starring Taron Egerton, Jamie Bell, Richard Madden and Bryce Dallas Howard.

Rocketman would seem to be heading to theaters at an opportune moment, right on the heels of Bohemian Rhapsody becoming a massive blockbuster last fall. (It’s already grossed more than $700 million worldwide.) Interestingly, the man who took over for Bryan Singer when he was fired from Bohemian Rhapsody during production, Dexter Fletcher, is the director of Rocketman. It will be fun to compare the two films when they’re both out in the world. (That still at the top of this post even kind of resembles the poster from Bohemian Rhapsody.) Small world, this land of musical biopics.

Rocketman opens in theaters on May 31.
