Team USA Hockey Calls on This Star Player for the Buffalo Sabres
Team USA is in the finals of the Four Nations Face-Off against Team Canada on Thursday. The game will be played in Boston.
Unfortunately for Team USA, they are dealing with some injuries. Defenseman Charlie McAvoy remains in the hospital after suffering an injury. Star forwards Matthew Tkachuk and Auston Matthews sat out the team's loss to Sweden as an injury precaution. Matthew's brother, Brady Tkachuk, was also hurt in that game. Team USA did not need to win that game to be in the finals.
Brady did not practice today. Matthew and Matthews did.
Team USA is trying to bring in some reserves in case these players can't go. They can't put anyone in the lineup unless they're missing more players, but as insurance, one of the players they have called upon is a familiar face to Buffalo Sabres fans.

News 4 Buffalo sports director Josh Reed confirms that Tage Thompson is headed to Boston for the championship game.
Thompson has 48 points in 48 games this season. He was hoping to be on the main roster for the tournament but was unfortunately not selected. The 27-year-old Phoenix, Arizona native is a hulking 6'6" tall with a rocket of a shot. If needed, Team USA would not be downgrading their skill by any means.
Tema USA plays Team Canada in the championship game of the Four Nations Face-Off on Thursday, February 20, at 8 pm in Boston. The game can be seen on ESPN.
