There's a new number one restaraunt in the United States, and Western New York has 4 of them.

Now, when we say the number-one restaurant in the United States, that doesn't mean in our area. After all, Buffalo buys Buffalo. That's not to say chains don't have a place here or that they don't do well here. It's just that food is so good throughout the region that local places tend to dominate the landscape.

We are very lucky to have such amazing food from multiple cultures here. The rest of the country is not so lucky. So, when you see that Olive Garden has been the US's favorite restaurant for a long time, you kind of get the idea. The country has limited options in many places. THAT'S NOT to say Olive Garden isn't good. Who doesn't love some pasta and breadsticks? It's just that the local places in Western New York are superior in every way. Respectfully.

That being said, Olive Garden has been de-throned.

Texas Roadhouse is now the #1 restaurant in the United States. According to the Daily Mail, Olive Garden's seven-year reign at the top has ended.

The stats used to determine that were revenue. Texas Roadhouse grew in locations and in revenue last year, overtaking Olive Garden.

It's a significant change, too. We went from a sort of Italian style of food (sort of) to steak, which does feel very American, doesn't it? Texas Roadhouse is known for steaks, obviously, but also amazing rolls, handmade sides, and ribs. If you've never been, it's kind of like an Applebee's that went cowboy.
