Chooi was appointed concertmaster for the BPO in October 2019.

So what does being a concertmaster mean?

According to Wikipedia, a concertmaster is:

"...the leader of the first violin section in an orchestra and the instrument-playing leader of the orchestra. After the conductor, the concertmaster is the second-most significant leader in an orchestra, symphonic band or other musical ensemble."

The 31-year-old is from Victoria, British Columbia, and prior to his appointment with the BPO, he was the concertmaster for the New York Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.

Chooi's talent was apparent at a very young age, according to his Wikipedia page, he made his orchestral debut with the Victoria Symphony Orchestra in 2000 -- when he was just 11-years-old.

A quick look at Chooi's Twitter timeline confirms he's a Bills fan.

There's also this gem: a cover of what's undeniably the greatest Christmas song of all time.
