December is officially here and that means there's pretty much no avoiding Christmas songs.

Everywhere you go, whether it's a Wegmans, gas station or retail store, you're bound to hear holiday tunes every which direction. For some, this can be a bit annoying but for others, it's something they have waited all year to enjoy.

Everyone though seems to have those Christmas songs they love and those ones they cannot stand. For me, I love almost any version of "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Old Toy Trains," while any version of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" gets on my nerves.

But what is the most popular Christmas song in New York State?

For instance, the most popular Christmas song in California is "Feliz Navidad", while Michigan and Massachussets is "Silver Bells," according to a study done by Verizon which looked at streaming.

I know where your mind probably went to; "All I Want for Christmas is You" by Mariah Carey. That's actually not the answer for New York, according to a study done by Verizon.

The most popular Christmas song in the state of New York?

"It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year"

"It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" was first recorded and released by Andy Williams in 1963. The song was written by Edward Pola and George Wyle and has been covered by numerous musical artists across all genres over the past 48 years.

Garth Brooks and Harry Connick Jr. released two popular versions of the song -- Brooks' in 1999 and Connick Jr's in 2008.

It's one my favorites and I love Garth Brooks' version of the song.
