Great News For Movie Fans In Western New York

The signs of spring are all around us, and you just have to know where to look to find them.  Another one just popped up over the weekend, and it's for movie lovers.

The snow has melted and the weather is getting warmer.  The days are getting longer.  If you pay attention at night, you can hear the familiar sounds of peepers just after sunset.  It says it's officially spring on the calendar, and although we haven't had many days yet where it feels like it, spring is here.

Now, drive-ins are getting ready to open too!

Every year, drive-ins close down in late fall, and we have to wait for the weather to break before they can open up again.  In Western New York, that wait is almost over.  The Transit Drive-In has announced its official opening date for 2025

When will the Transit Drive-In open for the 2025 season?

They made the announcement on their facebook page over the weekend that we will not have long to wait for movies under the stars.  The Transit Drive-In will be opening on April 4th.

As of last summer, there were only around 20 drive-in theaters still in business in New York State.  They really became a thing of the past over the years, but then saw a resurgence during the pandemic.  It was one of the only activities that people could go out to do and still stay distanced from each other.

It's good to see them starting to come back!
