Fan Favorite Tre’Davious White Has Been Released By Buffalo Bills
By the looks of the latest moves by the Buffalo Bills, the team is poised to look quite different next season.
We've already heard about some high-profile moves from the team. Including the release of Deonte Hardy, Mitch Morse, Jordan Poyer, Nyheim Hines, and several other players, all of whom were shown the door over the last few days. The Bills have also executed a trade to give the team some additional picks in the 2024/25 NFL Draft.
However, it's the Bills' latest move that has many members of the Bills Mafia in their feelings.
Fan Favorite Tre'Davious White Has Been Released
The Bills all-pro cornerback Tre White has been given his walking papers as a member of the Buffalo Bills.
Over the seven years White has been a Bill, he has earned several accolades as one of the best cornerbacks in the league. White, who has 18 interceptions over his career, led the league in interceptions in the 2019 season.
Unfortunately, the last few seasons have been rough for White. He's been battling injuries since the end of the 2021 season, when he tore his ACL. White returned to the team towards the end of the 2022 season, appearing in 6 games, including the playoffs for the Bills.
White and the Bills had high hopes for the 2023 season, but the week 4 game against the Miami Dolphins marked the end of the season for him, as he tore his Achilles tendon, an injury that marked the end of his season again.
White's Release To Save The Bills Millions On Salary Cap
This move will save the Bills more than $10 million in space under the salary cap. The move is expected to become official after June 1st, but White will be eligible to seek a new team starting next week.
With this move and the release of Jordan Poyer and Siran Neal, the Bills defensive secondary looks hollowed out. We will have to wait and see what additional changes the Bills will make to the team as the off-season continues.
Hopefully, this is all for the best because the Bills Mafia is unhappy seeing White go.
