Gas prices are awful these days, and Buffalonians are especially not happy about it. Seems like we've been hit especially hard, usually well above the national average, as this Buffalo News article points out.

Gasoline prices in the Buffalo area shot up by an average of 11 cents a gallon during the week that ended Saturday as the turmoil in Libya sent shock waves through world oil markets.

What is it about Buffalo that we always get the short end of the dipstick?

According to Buffalo News, turns out the jump in gas prices this last week has very little to do with what is happening in Libya, and has more to do with speculators, forecasters and corporate greed.

And there appears to be no end in sight with $4 to $5 prices expected within the next year and $150 per barrel prices possible (the highest in history).

So what can you do? Unfortunately, all you can do is laugh about it.
