A New Branch of the Military?

Vice President Mike Pence has laid out President Trump's plan for a sixth branch of the military that would be equal to the other five and would go beyond protecting the nation in the air, land and sea.  The new military branch would protect national security in outer space.

Think about it.  If communication or observation satellites in outer space were attacked it would leave the United States deaf and blind.  We would virtually be left without a way to communicate with troops or with the public. And our eyes in the sky would be wiped out.  We need a way to protect our resources in outer space and this new branch of the military.

Trump wants the new Space Force to be operational by 2020.  It would need approval by Congress.
