Wrestling does well in Buffalo. We've had a lot of big WWE events here in the past from Raw, to Smackdown, to PPVs. Most recently;y RAW was here in April of 2022. Locally we have ESW (Empire State Wrestling) which does feature wrestlers from AEW from time to time, like Buffalo's own Daniel Garcia, Jay Lethal, and Orange Cassidy.

AEW started back in 2019 and continues to build momentum with some massive stars like CM Punk, Kenny Omega, John Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Dr. Britt Baker, Adam Cole (Bay Bay), The Young Bucks, Chris Jericho, MJF, and even Sting. That's only a handful, too.  Many people know that Rochester's own Brodie Lee was the TNT champion until his tragic and sudden passing, making the Flower City a favorite stop of the promotion, understandably. In fact, AEW will be in Rochester, NY on July 6th.

However, they are yet to come to Buffalo. Which is surprising. The BUtcher and the Blade as well as Garcia are from Buffalo. Sean SPears is from Niagara Falls, CA. The Bunny is from Toronto but is featured with Butcher and the Blade on Buffalo Boys apparel. Then you have the history: Ilio DiPaolo, Lex Luger, Beth Phoenix, Kerry Von Erich, to name a few greats from Buffalo. What gives?

Here are 4 reasons why I think AEW hasn't come to Buffalo, NY yet.

A NOTE: This is an opinion based on general knowledge of how some things work, but is in no way based on fact. I have no insider knowledge and this is all pure speculation.
