Buffalo Sabres Make Goalie Change Before Game 3
The Buffalo Sabres are looking to shake things up heading into tonight's Game 3 versus the Boston Bruins. The Sabres have decided to replace Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen in goal with Alex Lyon.
It is not crazy that the Sabres have made this move. During the season, the Sabres swapped goalies all the time. During the regular season, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen started 34 games while Alex Lyon started 34 games as well.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen started both playoff games for the Sabres, going 1 and 1 with a GPA of 4.19. Lyon has played in 5 playoff games in his career, recording one win. Puck drop for tonight's game is set for 7 pm.
NHL Winter Classic Coming Back To Buffalo, New York
Earlier this week, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman was in Buffalo for the Sabres playoff series against Boston. He was asked about the NHL Winter Classic and if it could return to Buffalo at the New Highmark Stadium. Bettman did confirm a date, but did say the Winter Classic will be coming back to Buffalo.
The first NHL Winter Classic took place on January 1st 2008. That means the event's 20th anniversary is coming up in 2028. The Sabres were part of the 10th anniversary of the Winter Classic, so it would make sense that it would return to Buffalo for the 20th anniversary.
