With the news out of the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis earlier this week, that the Bills are unlikely to retain backup QB Mitch Trubisky, the team is more than likely going to have to dive into free agency to find a backup for Josh Allen.

Head coach Sean McDermot said earlier this week that it was unrealistic that the team would bring back veteran backup Mitch Trubisky. With several starting openings around the league, the one-time Bears starter will probably see if he can land himself a full-time gig.

So where does that leave the Bills?  There is a chance that they spend one of their six, day 3 picks on a Quarterback in the upcoming NFL draft being held April 28-30th in Las Vegas.  But even if they do that, there is a good chance that they will be looking to bring in a veteran backup.

With the way that the roster is constructed, it begs the question, do they bring in another young backup like Trubisky, or do they look to bring in a more seasoned veteran that can win some games in the event that Josh Allen has to miss any time.  A lot of people are saying that the Bills are one player away, and Vegas agrees as they are the odds on favorites to win the title next season.

So with that said, we scoured the free agency pool for this year, and came up with 5 options that the Bills could look at for backup QB for the 2022 NFL season, including a familiar face or two.
