Buffalo Bills GM hints at Draft Swap with New York
The NFL Draft is just under a month away, and the question on everyone's minds is just what will the Bills do with the 25th Pick?
When Roger Goodell steps to the podium to announce the Bills' selection on the night of April 28th, there is no shortage of directions that the team could go. Wide Reciever, Offensive Line, Running Back, or Corner Back are just a few options that have been speculated upon by the media.
But, is there a chance that the team could make a big splash to move up the draft board and make a draft-night trade. We told you that there was buzz out there that the Bills could be looking to move up in the first round, and now a potential partner has come into focus.
Down in New Jersey, there is a team that may want to consider changing its name to the Buffalo Giants. Ever since former Bills Assistant General Manager Joe Schoen became the new GM of the New York Giants, he has been surrounding himself with former Bills. Head Coach Bian Daboll, Offensive Line Coach Bobby Johnson, and former players Jon Feliciano, Matt Breida, and Antonio Williams all now call East Rutherford home.
When speaking of his relationship with the Schoen and the Giants at last week's NFL owners meetings in West Palm Beach, Bills GM Brandon Beane told The Athletic:
If we need position A, he needs position B, maybe we can swap players if it’s a guy he’s probably not going to keep, I’ve got one I’m not going to keep...Maybe it’s an easier conversation in the draft if he’s looking to move...I think we’ll try to be fair to each other.
The Giants currently hold both the 5th and 7th overall selections in this years' draft.
