Bills fans love people who work hard and it's tough to see them go, so when one of those players gets signed to the team, in any capacity, we celebrate with them. That is the case for Buffalo Bills' linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo who found a spot on the Bills' practice squad today.

Jimmy Ciarlo signed to the practice squad

He started getting noticed by Bills Mafia during training camp when the HBO show "Hard Knocks" was doing a documentary on the Bills. It was tough not to pay attention to his story. He was a West Point standout who was signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent. Unfortunately, he tore his ACL just 4 plays into his debut season and spent the rest of the season on IR.

The Bills picked him up in the offseason, but he failed to make the team. They brought him back this past week but then waived him mid-week again.

Now that he's cleared waivers, they were able to add him to the practice squad.

There is an open roster spot on the Bills' 53-man roster

Technically, there are 3 open roster spots, but two of them will probably be filled by Larry Ogunjobi and Michael Hoecht who were brought in during free agency. They've been suspended for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs. The week following the bye will be the first week they will be eligible to play.

Now, people are wondering what will happen with that vacant spot. Will the Bills be making a trade, or signing a player to help get them back on track? Will they permanently elevate a player that is already on the practice squad like Jordan Poyer?

We will wait to see. The Bills have some time to decide as they are on their bye and don't have a game to prepare for this week.
