There is a blood shortage in Western New York at Unyts...about 500 to be safe. With the decline in donations and the increase in trauma
Unyts is the primary supplier of blood products to Kaleida Health, ECMC, Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, Eastern Niagara Health, Wyoming County Community Health System, Olean General Hospital, and Brooks-TLC Health System. According to Unyts, the organization has already supplied 3000 units of blood, platelets and plasma to local hospitals-- a significant increase from last July", according to WKBW.
