If you stayed up to watch the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, then you were treated to one entertaining evening. The top 10 went fairly according to plan, but after that it was pure chaos.

Surprising selections and big-time trades highlighted the rest of the first round.

The Buffalo Bills made a trade as well. They traded from pick 25 to pick 23 to draft Florida cornerback Kaiir Elam.

Elam is a 6’2’’ cornerback who is good at press man coverage and should be a future starter for the Bills in the future.

Bills GM Brandon Beane said before the draft they did not have 32 first round grades. In fact, Beane said after the Elam pick, that he was the last first round grade left on the board for the Bills. Hence why they traded up two spots to make sure they got him.

Beane also said that he was listening to the fans. They agreed they needed to address cornerback early and they did that.

Beane said they don’t know where the Breece Hall (RB) talk came from. The Bills GM says locally, it was all cornerback and wide receiver, while nationally it was running back.

I do believe the Bills add both running back and wide receiver between now and round 5, but they didn’t have a first round grade left and stuck with their board. That’s what Beane always does.

I would expect another offensive weapon to be a priority on day two of the draft tonight.
