Why Buffalo Should Be Happy The Blue Jays Are In The World Series
People all over Toronto and Buffalo are cheering from ear to ear that the Blue Jays are back in the World Series, albeit maybe for different reasons.
For baseball fans, there is no hiding the fact that Buffalo made a major contribution to the Blue Jays' success this year. There are several players who, before they made it to the big leagues, spent their formative baseball years playing at Sahlen Field for the Herd. If you take a look at the Blue Jays' current roster, you will find several former Bisons on that team, and that has Buffalo baseball fans giddy with excitement.
But there is another reason why Buffalonians should be excited and encouraged that the Blue Jays are back in the World Series.

Just imagine it for a second, it's October 1992: after a hard-fought 6-game series, the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Oakland Athletics and go the thier first World Series, which also marks the first time a Canadian team makes it to the MLB finals.
The Blue Jays, who faced the Atlanta Braves, had superstars like Roberto Alomar, David Cone, Joe Carter, David Wells, and Dave Winfield on their roster did the unimaginable; they beat the Braves in six 6-games to win thier first-ever World Series. People from Burlington to Oshawa cheered for weeks as the Jays brought the title home to Skydome.
Unknowingly, though, the Blue Jays tied themselves to another team that had championship aspirations in 1992: the Buffalo Bills.
Buffalo and Toronto have been intrinsically linked for more than 200 years. From the War of 1812 to now, the love that these two cities have for each other has been built on mutual trade and respect. Who would've guessed that just 3 short months later, the NFL team from Western New York would take a trip to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, for Super Bowl XXVII?
If you look at the record books, the two years the Blue Jays went to the World Series, the Buffalo Bills went to the Super Bowl. Does this bode well for the Bills, who hope to return to the big game this year? Only time will tell.
Until we find out, let's just say Go Blue Jays!
