The Buffalo Bills are now one step closer to replacing Matt Prater for this Sunday's game against Cleveland. Prater is out with a quad injury and is listed week to week. Head coach Sean McDermott said earlier this week that Prater will not kick in Sunday's game against the Browns

Buffalo Bills Add New Kicker To Their Roster

The team announced today that they have signed kicker Michael Badgley to the practice squad, while releasing cornerback M.J. Devonshire to make room for the new kicker.

Badgley played college at Miami and joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Colts in 2018. Since then, he has played for several different teams, including the Bears, the Lions, the Titans, and, most recently for the Colts again.

He played in 7 games for the Colts this season, making 10 out of 11 field goals and 1 out of 21 extra points. His longest field goal this year is 53 yards.

The Bills are in must-win mode for the remaining three games of the regular season if they want a chance to win the AFC East for the 6th straight year. They also would need the Patriots to lose at least one more game to for a chance to claim the title as well.

Having a kicker that you might not trust 100% isn't ideal heading to the final stretch of the season, but hopefully, he will only be called upon to hit extra points, at least versus Cleveland.

The Bills are the heavy favorites to win on Sunday over the Browns, who come into the game with 3-11 record. The Browns lost to the Bears this past Sunday, 31 to 3.
