What Are The Buffalo Bills Chances Of Winning The Super Bowl This Season?
Over the last couple of years, the Buffalo Bills have been favorites to win the Super Bowl. As of right now, they still haven't even made it to the big game, and it's not looking like they'll do it this year. But believe it or not, there's still a chance.
The Bills suffered a nasty loss against the Houston Texans
The Buffalo Bills have not had much luck against the Houston Texans over the past couple of years. As a matter of fact, they haven't won a game against them since 2006. That's when JP Losman and Lee Evans were still on the team.
Last night was another rough loss to them. The Bills got absolutely beat up. While the score looked close, it didn't feel that close on the field. Houston's defense lived up to all the hype. They held the Bills to just 19 points and sacked Josh Allen a total of 8 times. It was hard to watch.
Can the Bills still make it to the Super Bowl this season?
It's easy to feel like it's over. The Bills are at 7-4 and still have a difficult schedule ahead of them. They still have to take on the Eagles, the Patriots again (who have already beaten the Bills once and are on the verge of stealing the divisional title from them), the Steelers, and a Cincinnati team that looks to be on the path to getting their star quarterback Joe Burrow back. But believe it or not, it's not hopeless.
The Bills have been here before. Just a couple of years ago in 2023, the Bills were actually worse off at 6-6 after losing to the Eagles in overtime. They eventually went on to win the division that year.
Anything is possible.
It's pretty unlikely that the Bills will make it to the Super Bowl this year
Let's pump the positivity breaks though. I'm going to be Captain Obvious for a minute and say that although it's possible, it's pretty unlikely that the Bills will be able to pull this off.
Chris Brown, who is the play-by-play voice actually tweeted out the percentage of teams that have gone on to not only make the playoffs after starting 7-4 after the first 12 weeks of the season (including the bye week) but what the chances are of them winning the division and going on the win the Super Bowl. It doesn't look good.
So you can look at that a couple of ways. In a positive light, you could say that it's pretty likely they'll still make the playoffs. It's still possible for them to win the division but it would require the Patriots to suddenly start playing awful. And there's a still a chance that they could win the Super Bowl.
But it's certainly looking pretty slim right now.
