Not even the classics are safe when it comes to COVID-19.  As the numbers in Western New York, and Erie County remain high, there are several events throughout the area that are being forced to cancel or reschedule.

The latest one to pop up, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra has announced that it will be canceling not one, but two performances of New World Symphony this weekend.  The performances which were scheduled to take place this Friday, January 14th at 10:30 am and Saturday, January 15th at 7:30 pm at Kleinhans Music Hall are now both canceled.

A statement on the BPO website reads:

Due to growing concerns about the spread of the coronavirus in our community, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this weekend’s New World Symphony performances. Ticket holders may exchange their tickets for a future 21-22 season performance scheduled through June 2022. Please call the Box Office at (716) 885-5000, or e-mail boxoffice@bpo.org to discuss your options.
