This is the weekend horse race fans and fans of big hats have been waiting for; it is time for the Kentucky Derby. Today, you will hear people cheer on their favorite horse, but the words coming out of their mouths might make you cringe.

As we get ready for one of the biggest horse races of 2026, you will want to double-check which horse you are rooting for. Yelling out their name to cheer them on might get you some dirty looks at your Kentucky Derby Party.

While these are pretty strange, there have been some VERY weird names during the 152 years the Kentucky Derby has been run.

Some of those names include "My Dad George," who finished 2nd in 1970.

There have been a Captain Steve and a Mo Tom who both finished 8th in their races. There have also been Grand Mo The First, who finished far from first. He came in 18th in the 2024 Kentucky Derby.

There has also been a horse named "I am the Game, and "No More Flowers," both of which didn't win the race. On the flip side, "Real Quiet" created plenty of noise when he finished first in 1998.
