The last few days have been pretty interesting if you follow sports in and around the Buffalo area.

In the days that have followed since the Bills grabbed a big win in Pittsburgh against the Steelers, the team made a move to improve the defense that caught a few people by surprise.

Just a few days after that week thirteen matchup, the Steelers released star cornerback Darius Slay, Jr. Slay, who earned the nickname "Big Play Slay" after his performance in Super Bowl LIX, had requested to be released from the Steelers. With the injuries the Bills have sustained this season, they quickly moved to claim Slay from waivers.

In order to make room for Slay on the team's 53-man active roster, the Bills released cornerback Je'Marcus Ingram with the intent of signing him back to the practice squad.

Bills 'Lose' Two Defensive Backs After Acquiring Darius Slay

However, that plan didn't quite work out for the hometown team as Slay has refused to report to Buffalo to play for the Bills. Initial reports were that Slay requested to leave the Steelers because he was thinking about leaving football altogether to retire; however, recent reports on social media are leading people to believe that Slay is refusing to report to Buffalo for other reasons.

Things like his personal life and Buffalo weather are being attributed to why he won't come to Buffalo.

Now, as bad as that is, things have gotten even worse for the Bills as just a few hours after Je'Marcus Ingram was released by the Bills, the Houston Texans picked him up, and he's not on his way to South Texas.

So a move that was meant to help build the team's defensive backfield ended up costing the team a lot more.
