Decision To Open NYS Schools In September Will Come By August 7th
We'll probably have to wait for the decision to open schools for the fall a little longer.
According to WKBW, Governor Andrew Cuomo said New York State will make the decision to open schools this September, by August 7th.
The final decision will be made the first week of August and all school districts must submit a reopening plan to the state education department by July 31st.
There's been talk of schools reopening by region as we've had with the phased reopening, but according to Cuomo, that hasn't been decided either.
"We will open the schools if it is safe to open the schools," Cuomo said. "Everybody wants the schools reopen. Everybody. Nobody wants the schools open more than I do."
Cuomo said the decision is the state's to make and not the government.
What do you think? Should New York State reopen schools by September? Would you feel safe with your kid or kids going back?
