When one thinks of the Godfathers within the Hard Rock/Heavy Metal genre you need to credit (in no particular order) Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden.

Some gave the lead singers of each band the moniker of “The Three Tremors” comparing them to the opera singing trio “The Three Tenors”. Ronnie James Dio, Rob Halford, and Bruce Dickinson. Each singer definitely has a distinctive tone, delivery, and sound.

At one point, I was fortunate enough to ask Ronnie James Dio if the rumor of all three singers touring together under the marquee of “The Three Tenors” was a possibility. He looked at me, smiled, laughed, and said “Oh I don’t think there is a big enough stage for all of our egos.” And with the passing of Ronnie, it looks like that show will never happen.

However, one of the Three Tremors was recently in town and not with his band Iron Maiden. Bruce Dickinson visited Buffalo State’s Rockwell Hall for his Spoken Word Tour.

Bruce covered everything from his career to taking questions from the audience. When it is spoken word people in attendance are ‘the audience’. When at a concert they are ‘a crowd’.

CEO of Backstageaxxess.com David “Gus” Griesinger was on-hand to catch this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to connect with one of the all-time greatest voices in rock and you can learn more about it and see pictures from the event (I really dug the red shoes Bruce was wearing) HERE.
