It was recently announced that Memphis, Tennessee is building its new football stadium right in the middle of the city, so why is Buffalo not doing the same thing?

The Titan recently announced additional details surrounding the new stadium they're building in their city center, and besides the fact that Bills fans were a tad upset that their project is moving so much faster than the one in Buffalo, the question again comes up about why the Bills are not doing the same thing.

What's that you may ask? Building a downtown stadium.

Just about everyone who was around when the Bills moved from War Memorial Stadium in the Masten neighborhood of Buffalo to an empty field in the middle of Orchard Park agrees that this was a bad idea. I've said it before, and I am saying it again. We all know that the powers that be in the Buffalo area have a history of making bad decisions. We've seen this story play out in our history time and time again.

What do cities like Baltimore, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago, Detroit, Minnesota, Seattle, Pittsburgh, and now Memphis, know that we can't seem to grasp?

It's the underlying fact that our communities are better when the central city in the community is better. You can read the study and see for yourself.

I accept that this decision is a done deal and that the Bills' new state-of-the-art stadium is set to break ground in 2023. I'm a die-hard Green Bay Packers Bills Fan and I plan to go to games at the new stadium, just like I do at the current stadium.

It just would be better downtown.
