Erie County Executive Weighs In On Reinstating Mandatory Indoor Mask Mandate

Will there be another mask mandate here in Western New York for the holidays? Mark Poloncarz talked to the media yesterday and said there was consideration to make a new mask mandate for public places. Erie County Health officials are watching the COVID rates and numbers.

It is no surprise that the numbers are going up in Western New York. Last week, at the end of the work week, there were 230 COVID patients in Erie County, and out of the 230 people, 41 of them were in the ICU. How many people died? COVID-19 Hospital Report for November 19: Erie Co. hospitals had 230 patients (up 17), 41 of whom were in the ICU (down 2), 30 on an airway assist (no change), and 54% of the patients were aged 64 and under. Sadly, two more persons died that day.
Of 230 patients with known vaccination status, 139 (60%) were not fully vaccinated, 26 of 41 ICU patients (63%) were not fully vaccinated, and 20 of 30 patients with an airway assist (67%) were not fully vaccinated. 2/2
